1 loaf French bread
2 lb. hamburger
1 container (16 oz) sour cream
1 medium onion
1 medium green pepper
1 medium tomato
1 small can mushrooms
1 cup grated cheddar cheese
Grated Mozzarella cheese (optional)
Brown the hamburger in a skillet with onion, mushrooms, and Worcestershire sauce.
Drain away the fat and add sour cream, then let simmer.
Cut the French bread in half lengthwise and toast in oven under the broiler.
Butter the French bread and scoop the meat/sour cream mixture evenly onto French bread halves.
Cut the green pepper and tomato into thin slices and place on top of the meat.
Broil for 5 minutes to the cook tomato and green pepper.
Remove from the oven and sprinkle Mozzarella cheese and cheddar cheese alternately over the top of the sandwiches.
Broil until the cheese is melted.
