Codfish Chowder

           Ingredients:           

Servings - Serves 4 people

package (1 lb.) frozen codfish fillets 
3 slices of bacon 
1 medium onion 
1 (16 oz.) can of white potatoes 
1 (16 oz.) can of tomatoes 
1/4 cup ketchup 
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce 
1 tsp. pepper 
1/8 tsp. thyme leaves 
 

               Directions:             

Place the unopened package of frozen codfish fillets in a large sauce pan and cover with cold water for about 20 minutes.

Drain and cut the codfish fillets into bite size pieces and set them aside.

Cut the bacon into 1 inch slices, thinly slice the onion, drain the potatoes, and cut each potato in half.

In a 2 quart sauce pan, cook the bacon over medium heat until it is limp, then add the onion and cook until it is browned.

Stir in the potatoes, the can of tomatoes in their liquid, then add the ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, pepper, and thyme.

Cook for 5 more minutes, stirring occasionally.

Add the fish fillets and cook for another 10-15 minutes, or until the fish flakes easily when tested with a fork, stirring often.
