Our Wedding Cake

Click photo to enlarge The other day, my nephew Jerry gave Cheria and me a CDROM filled with pictures that he had taken at our wedding, and although we're approaching our third anniversary we had never seen these particular photos before. The CD is filled with lots of wonderful images from the happiest day of my life - one of which is the "Picture Of The Day". The wedding cake is always one of the most memorable symbols of the blessed event, and we really loved our three-tiered version. As Cheria and I fed each other a small piece of the delicious confection, I couldn't help but think about how beautiful it was and how well it suited such a beautiful bride! On that cold November day almost three years ago, I became the luckiest man on earth when Cheria took my hand and latched onto my heart, becoming a part of me for all eternity. God has blessed me with a very beautiful and loving wife, an equally beautiful granddaughter, and many precious memories of the most joyous day in the life of a country boy from Widener Valley, Virginia. I guess it just goes to show that you really can have your cake and eat it too! Thank you Lord - for giving me life, salvation, and the love of my life. And thank you Cheria - for loving me, and accepting me along with my many faults. My life will never be the same as it was before, and for that I'll forever be grateful.
