How to fix Windows 7 crashes

Posted on January 29, 2011

Windows 7 crashes are the major problem that Microsoft users have been clamoring about lately. The system crashes randomly – right after login, in the middle of playing a game, while working on a file, and during web surfing, among others. Some users call this glitch the “black screen of death” where the screen of their computer will turn to black and eventually crash. The Windows 7 crash can be very frustrating, but there are ways to fix the problem:

1. Upgrade your memory or RAM. All software installed on your PC requires a certain amount of Random Access Memory (RAM) in order to run properly. Besides these applications, your operating system requires resources to run. To let these applications run smoothly without crashing, free up some space or upgrade your memory.

Caring for teeth with braces

Posted on January 28, 2011

Orthodontia is used to help straighten teeth and make the smile beautiful. However, braces and other orthodontic devices can cause problems when it comes to properly cleaning the teeth.

They consist of brackets placed on each individual tooth and a curved wire that holds all of them together. Rubber bands are usually applied to secure these items together, and other larger bands can be placed between the upper and lower jaw to adjust a person’s bite.

All of this hardware in the mouth makes it difficult to reach the actual teeth below to take care of them. When you have braces placed in your mouth, be sure to ask your orthodontist how to take care of them. Most will give you a little packet or care package to take home with you with guidelines on how to keep your orthodontia in good condition. Though the process is more difficult, it will be even more necessary for you to floss and brush your teeth now that the equipment has been placed.

Why selling a house requires a positive attitude

Posted on January 28, 2011

Are we giving up before we try? I did a staging consultation the other day for a sweet young couple. They need to sell their house so that they can be closer to family members who help out with their daycare needs. They have a great house that they really love – it’s an older home and they’ve made some wonderful improvements to it.

The listing agent asked me to talk to this couple about getting their house ready to sell. She felt the extra clutter and over-sized furniture was making this house feel smaller than it is. And she was right.

I gave them a lots of suggestions for making the house look more appealing to buyers. I also spent a great deal of time explaining why its important to do these things. (I’ve learned that when people understand the “why” they’re more inclined to listen.)

Install a solar powered fountain for a healthier pond

Posted on January 28, 2011

Whether you raise koi or another type of carp in your fish pond, a proper level of oxygen must be maintained in order for the pond to be healthy and allow the fish to thrive. There are several ways to keep the proper balance in the pond, but the most aesthetically pleasing way is by installing a solar powered fountain.

A solar powered fountain continuously sprays water into the air, which then drops onto the pond adding oxygen to the pond water. This spray makes a beautiful sight as well as sound. Because solar powered fountains are wireless, there is no need for the pond to be near a power source. The only thing required to make the solar powered fountain operate is the sun. Some fountains will sit lower in the water than others, and not all fountains will produce a spray.

How Does the Fountain Work for the Pond’s Health? When the fountain circulates the water, water from deeper in the pond is brought to the surface where it can “breathe in” oxygen carrying it back into the pond. This additional oxygen increases the dissolved oxygen level in the pond. This process is called aeration. It is a necessary part of keeping a pond healthy.
