Light Displays to See Before You Die

Posted on April 26, 2012

I’m very affected by visual things and I’m not afraid to say it.

I love appreciating the attractive things in life: scenery, color, people, decor, it could be anything…

I’m also really influenced by setting in general. Dim lighting can hamper my mood and productivity significantly, and whenever I move into a new place, I can’t do anything until I’ve adjusted the layout and decor of my room in a way that reflects how I think it should look.

Maybe I’m just inflexible?

I also get bored, and end up moving things around from time to time just to see what it looks like a different way round.

But I think most people appreciate seeing the world in a different way from time to time, which is why I love light shows. Light up your world in a different way! [Read more…]

Do you Really Need a Professional Photographer?

Posted on April 26, 2012

The beauty of digital cameras is that they have essentially revolutionized the way that photographs are taken. The invention and then mass distribution of digital cameras has undoubtedly been the biggest revolution and change in the industry since the invention of photography and has changed the face of photography forever.

Long gone are the days when you would send off your film to be developed and wait for two weeks to see whether you’d managed to get a photograph of the thing or person you wanted to photograph or whether you managed to capture an image of your own thumb.

Also long gone are the days of receiving your prints back with a warning sticker from the developers because of poor lighting, shaky-cam, or an out of focus object which might have been a drink, a statue or a cactus. [Read more…]

Posted on April 25, 2012

For generations now model trains have been a source of inspiration for thousands of railroading enthusiasts around the world. This exciting and challenging hobby has its roots in Europe. During World War II, these small trains were very popular, as they gave children a safe and rewarding way to spend time in doors.

Those that have kept the models that they purchased during that time, are now owners of some of the most sought after trains in the world, because trains from the war era that have been well looked after are scarce and rare, and anything collectable that bares these aspects is always highly valuable.

Model Trains Please Enthusiasts Of All Ages

Besides older models being excellent collectors’ items today, most modern models manufactured by well known companies offer so much to enthusiasts of all ages on different levels of skill. [Read more…]

How to Encourage Your Child to Have an Active Lifestyle

Posted on April 25, 2012

These days it seems more and more difficult to encourage our young children to stay active and be fit.  As parents we are faced with many adversities in trying to form good habits for our children.

Video games and other sedentary activities are being marketed directly to our children, as are fast foods and junk foods. Everywhere in the ubiquitous media unhealthy snacks and couch activities are bombarding our children’s sensibilities.

This coupled with the fact that all the time saving technology such as smart phones and online conveniences for almost everything under the sun really just means that we as adults are expected to do more with less time rather than to save time to spend with our families.

As parents, we are often exhausted from working our jobs and also having to take care of our young ones and it becomes easy to leave your children to occupy themselves. Computers and video games become convenient baby sitters for our children and fast food becomes an easy way to feed the family after a long and tiring day. It does take a commitment from you as an adult to increase the level of fitness in your children. Here are some suggestions that you can incorporate into your life to bring more fitness to your children.
