How to plan a honeymoon on a budget

Posted on April 1, 2011

Everybody knows that weddings are expensive, far more expensive than anyone expects, and the same problem applies to honeymoons. The difference is that though you may get help paying for the wedding, chances are no one is going to offer to pay for your honeymoon. Fortunately, there are a number of ways to cut costs that still allow you to have the honeymoon of your dreams without worrying about how you’re going to pay for it.

Budget first and plan ahead

In time for Mother’s Day: Anti-stress process for Mothers

Posted on March 30, 2011

First, a confession: It is only relatively recently that I’ve discovered how to de-stress my mother (as opposed to distressing her – I’m pretty good at that, actually). And yes, I have only managed to spin this particular plate one, ever variable day of the year. Sometimes.

In my youth, a card and breakfast in bed was pretty much the limit of my powers. It wasn’t like the house would function if my mom downed tools for the day. And having never received a phone call from my father, I’m unsure whether he is capable of reserving seats at a restaurant. I suspect not. The one time I remember taking a trip out was to a Little Chef, which is insane no matter which way you cut it.

This year, “Mothering Sunday” has parked itself on April 3rd in the UK, which still gives us a little time to consider how we’re going to make this day a little more special…

Sunglasses: What’s in for Spring & Summer

Posted on March 29, 2011

Now that the winter snow is melting, it is time to start thinking about the new styles for the spring and summer seasons. As you may already know, sunglasses are great accessories that can add pizzazz to any outfit. The hottest styles this year are decidedly retro. These include formerly taboo styles such as cat eye sunglasses and round 70s sunglasses. If a pair of new designer sunglasses isn’t in your budget this year, you are in luck, for these styles can easily be found in any vintage store.

Cat Eye Sunglasses

This iconic style from the 1950s is making a huge comeback on the runway. Christian Dior and Giles have both featured cat-eye sunglasses in their most recent shows, and chances are, you’ll be seeing them on the streets and in the tabloids.

How to have fun while dating online

Posted on March 28, 2011

Many of the people who use the online dating services are probably there after a long day of work, and many consider it a way to relax and have a good time, just as they might feel about going to a party.

Of course, many are looking for a romantic partner, but at the same time they are looking for positive, fun conversations, a way to have a little relaxation and enjoyment, and maybe to engage in a little fantasizing about meeting their prince charming or beautiful damsel.

So, being positive and relaxed in the chat rooms will tend to attract people and make them want to talk to you. Forget about heavy political discussions and problems at work and concentrate on fun conversation that makes people feel good.

How to look like a million for a whole lot less!

Posted on March 26, 2011

Have you ever wondered why the girl in the office across the hall always looks like she just stepped out of a magazine, especially when you know she makes less than you do? Do you want to know her secrets? Then read on!

There’s a difference between browsing the sale racks when you go into a store and being a discount shopper. A big difference. A true discount shopper regularly uses the web to score percentage off coupons, BOGO (buy one/get one) offers, free shipping codes, and additional discounts for ordering online.

The discount shopper will go one step further by being on the electronic mailing lists of his/her favorite places to shop in order to get advanced notice of sales, as well as special preferred customer incentives. Oh, and a true discount shopper isn’t an impulse buyer; he/she buys what is needed at the best possible price.

Retailers know you have less to spend these days and that they have to work hard to earn the privilege of taking your money. Here are some places and ways you can save and look like you didn’t…
