Today's picture features a very rare event. As a matter of fact, this is the first time I have ever seen it. Yes, I know it's hard to believe but that really is none other than Teddy Helton singing a song on The Pickin' Porch Show!

Besides being one of the nicest guys around, Teddy is also an accomplished musician who performs with several local bands including Fast Train and the fine Celtic group Fire In The Kitchen. And if you have ever seen The Pickin' Porch Show you almost certainly saw Teddy playing the upright bass along with Robby Spencer as he worked his magic on the banjo. But chances are you have never seen him tell a joke or sing - he usually just stands quietly on stage and takes the brunt of much of Robby's pointed humor. Tonight though, he did both, thrilling the audience like never before!

Teddy is a very familiar face at the Pickin' Porch. Besides playing with Robby each week, he also works tirelessly behind the scenes making sure the show goes off without a hitch. He books all of the bands that perform on the show and he performs a multitude of tasks that most people never see. Teddy Helton is a good man and a great musician - and now we know he can sing and tell a good joke too!
