Sugarloaf Mountain At Dusk
Today's picture features a spectacular view of one of the world's most
photographed landmarks: Sugarloaf Mountain in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. Rio
is famous for her sun-drenched beaches and party atmosphere, but Sugarloaf is
one of the first things you'll see as you arrive for your Rio
vacation.
A hike to the top of 1,300 foot Sugarloaf Mountain is certainly a challenge, but
you'll never forget the breathtaking view you'll find waiting for you when you
get there. The panoramic vista includes the world-famous beaches of Copacabana
and Ipanema along with beautiful Guanabara Bay. Be sure to take your camera
along!
Of course there is a lot more to Rio than just Sugarloaf and the beaches. There
are plenty of exciting things to occupy your time, including world-class
museums, surfing, hang-gliding, fishing, hiking, exotic parks, magnificent
gardens...the list goes on and on!
And then there is Carnaval, the world's most popular party festival. Over 1
million tourists visit Rio De Janeiro during Carnaval, turning the already
densely populated city into the world's largest standing-room-only party place
for several days preceding Ash Wednesday.
So if you're looking for an exciting getaway to a fun-filled, exotic locale, give
Rio a try. But be sure to begin your Rio vacation with a hike up to the peak of
Sugarloaf Mountain where you'll enjoy a magnificent view of all that awaits you in
the party capitol of the world!
