Colorful Sky Over Shelter Island, NY
Today's picture features a multi-colored sky over the Mashomack Preserve on Shelter
Island, NY. Nature's mosaic of red, orange, purple, blue and yellow
clouds make the sky appear to be on fire.
Shelter Island lies at the eastern end of Long Island, and is accessible only by
ferry. Although only five miles wide and serenely peaceful, tiny Shelter Island
is packed with things for her visitors to do, including:
- playing golf or tennis
- biking
- hiking
- fishing
- beach swimming
- exploring art galleries
- world-class dining
- enjoying the pristine Mashomack Nature Preserve
It's hard to believe that such a scenic, peaceful and playful spot as Shelter
Island can be so close to the hustle and bustle of New York City! Be sure to set
aside a day or two to visit beautiful Shelter Island when you plan your next Big
Apple vacation!
