Today's picture features a wonderful shot of one of the three major falls in
western New York's Letchworth State Park. Over eons of time, the Genesee River
has carved a deep gorge bounded by cliffs as high as 600 feet right in the
middle of beautiful lush forests. This gorge has come to be known as "The Grand Canyon Of The East".
Western New York is known for its beauty and tranquility, and Letchworth State
park offers visitors plenty of both.
The 14,350-acre park features over 70 miles of hiking trails that wind their way through the lush forests and to the top of several scenic peaks. If you prefer biking
over hiking there are over 20 trails for you to bike. Are wintertime activities your cup of tea? Then cross-country skiing on the trails just might be your idea of the perfect
winter vacation.
Letchworth State Park is located just 20 miles south of Rochester at exit 7 of
I-390. Be sure to
drop in for some exciting, yet relaxing outdoor adventures!
