Mt. Rogers And Whitetop Mountain

Saturday evening Cheria, Olivia and I attended a wonderful gospel music concert featuring The Singing Cookes. The concert was hosted by Meadowview, Virginia's Lifeline Ministries, a large church that sits on a high ridge that offers spectacular views in all directions. As we were walking out the door to go home we were treated to this beautiful scene just as dusk was approaching!

Meadowview boasts some of the best long-distance views of Mount Rogers and Whitetop Mountain to be found anywhere in the area - hence the name Meadowview. Mount Rogers is the peak located on the upper left-hand side of the photo. Whitetop is on the right. There we were, standing in a parking lot in tiny Meadowview, VA looking at the two highest peaks in the state. I had my camera with me so I took a few pictures.

There are many places around Meadowview where you can enjoy views like this, but standing on top of that ridge at Lifeline Ministries I got the feeling that I was just a bit closer to God as I took a good look at His handiwork. It was quite an experience!
