Tigger Eyeing A Chipmunk
After laying low for a while, our
backyard chipmunk has started scampering around outside our back door again.
He (or she?) runs around the back yard gathering nuts, seeds, and whatever else
chipmunks like to gather, all the while ignoring the many birds, rabbits and
squirrels that share the same living space. I guess "Chippy" feels comfortable
around the other wildlife, secure in the knowledge that to date they have left
him alone. But there is one critter that keeps a watchful eye on him...
Our cat Tigger watches
Chippy's every move through the glass door that leads from the dining room out
to the patio. It's hard to tell whether Tigger would chase our little striped
friend if given the chance, and if she did it's rather doubtful that our
Garfield-esque feline could actually catch him. At any rate, it doesn't seem to
bother Chippy when Tigger stares at him through the glass.
Cheria and I really love living out in the country where we can sit and watch a
wide variety of wildlife frolic and play on our property, and it's good to know
that our cats can do the same. I just hope that glass never breaks...
