(L-R) Lewis Phillips - Miggie Lewis - Janis Lewis Phillips - Scot Yarbrough Polly Williamson Copsey - "Little Roy" Lewis Last Saturday night the Bristol Goodson Lion’s Club hosted the 27th Annual Bluegrass Fundraiser concert on the Pickin' Porch stage with special performances by our very own VW Boys and The Lewis Family from Lincolnton, Georgia. Today's picture features The Lewis Family thrilling the audience with some fine pickin' and singin' during the show. The Lewis Family is known the world over as "America's First Family Of Bluegrass Gospel Music", and with good reason. "Mom" and "Pop" Lewis formed The Lewis Family group way back in 1951, and the group hasn't slowed down a bit since then! These wonderful folks have treated untold thousands of fans from all over the world to their unique brand of Bluegrass Gospel music - with plenty of comedy thrown in for good measure. The current Lewis Family group includes "Little Roy", his sisters Miggie, Janis, & Polly, Janis' son Lewis and Scot Yarbrough ("Mom" and "Pop" Lewis have both gone to be with the Lord). Their family harmony is as good as it gets, and the instrumental work is simply amazing. I don't think a stringed instrument has ever been made that "Little Roy" can't play and play exceptionally well! Just watching "Little Roy" sing, pick and "cut up" is worth several times the price of admission, and that's in addition to all the wonderful music you'll hear! It's quite obvious that "Little Roy" loves to entertain and his antics will have you laughing all the way through the show. He truly is a natural born performer if ever there was one. That's him in the photo at right pickin' a tune for the crowd - before the show had even begun! Yes, The Lewis Family loves for their audiences to have a great time, and they always do. But they also know what their music is all about - our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Every member of The Lewis Family possesses enormous talent, and they use every bit of it to help spread the gospel through music and entertainment.
