An Old Barn In Sutherland, TN

The tiny community of Sutherland, Tennessee is quite an interesting place. Intriguing Backbone Rock and the beautiful mountain scenery make Sutherland a wonderful three mile side-trip for those visiting nearby Damascus, Virginia.

Sutherland is more or less unspoiled - there are a few houses and small farms, the beautiful Sutherland Community Church and a fireworks store. But there are also high mountain ridges, rushing Beaver Dam Creek and the Backbone Rock National Recreation Area - and of course the natural beauty of the valley itself.

Today's picture features an old barn located on one of the farms that line the only road that passes through Sutherland. The sides are decorated with dozens of baskets and hats creating a unique country look!
