Sparrow In A Birdfeeder
A few days ago Cheria bought a
birdfeeder and placed it in one of our flower beds among some
flowers that had
decided to come up a bit early. We put about a cup of bird seed in the feeder
and waited to see if there would be any takers. Before we knew it there were
several blue jays,
cardinals, and
sparrows taking turns dining at the new birdfeeder.
As always, I got up this morning and walked into the dining room to peek out the
large glass door into the back yard to see what our feathered friends were up
to. Several White-Crowned Sparrows were flittering in and around the
birdfeeder, pecking at the seeds before flying off with a mouthful. I ran to get
my camera, but when I sat down near the door the birds became spooked and flew
away.
I decided to sit and wait, and sure enough a couple of the sparrows soon
returned to the feeder. I snapped off a few pictures and took the camera back to
the computer to see if I had any good shots. I did, and one of them is today's
picture!
