Beginning Spanish: A basic course in the Spanish language


 
This page lists some common Spanish expressions concerning the weather. The Spanish word for weather is tiempo.

¿Qué tiempo hace?
What's the weather like?

Hace mal tiempo.
The weather is bad.

Hace mucho frío.
It is very cold.

¡Hace mucho calor!
It's very hot!

Hace buen tiempo.
The weather is nice.

Hace fresco.
It is cool.

Hace viento.
It's windy.

Llueve.
It's raining.

Nieva.
It is snowing.

Note: The two previous Spanish expressions are usually used with just the one word.

Hace sol.
It's sunny.

la lluvia
rain

la nieve
snow
