Vowels:

Spanish vowels have only one basic sound, even though there are often slight variations depending on its position within the Spanish word or phrase. Spanish vowels are short and clipped, not drawn out.

Dipthongs:

In the Spanish language, a dipthong is a combination of two vowels, at least one of which must be an unaccented u or i. Dipthongs are pronounced as one syllable.
