Famous for its hospitality and party atmosphere, the most famous city of the "Old South" welcomes one and all with open arms. The indelible impression of its French colonial roots sets New Orleans apart from other U.S. cities. The local food, language and culture reflect these roots and help lend a distinctive flair to the area that visitors never forget. New Orleans' attractions, festivals and special events make it perhaps the most visited city in the south. The yearly Mardi Gras celebration alone draws visitors by the thousands!
