Today's picture features Hawaii's Na Pali Coast on the beautiful island of Kauai. The term Pali refers to the scenic rugged cliffs that end abruptly at the sea (along with the associated valleys).
Even today, rapidly flowing streams and waterfalls are
still cutting valleys into the earth while the crashing waves sculpt the edges
of the cliffs along the shore.
Hawaii is famous the world over for its perfect climate and breathtaking beauty,
and Na Pali Coast State Park boasts some of the state's most spectacular
vistas. The scene featured in this photo is a perfect example. A storm cloud is
passing over the shore, and if you look closely near the right side of the
picture you can actually see an isolated column of rain splashing into the sea!
If you're planning a Hawaii vacation, be sure to reserve some time for a visit
to Kauai and check out the spectacular Na Pali Coast.
