Hang Gliding On Maui

Today's beautiful picture was taken by Kalani Prince who gives us the following
story behind the image:
"At the 8000 foot mark on Maui you will find paragliders taking flight.
This shot
was taken after about three weeks of solid rain on Maui,
(very rare). I called
my friend Nick to see if he wanted to join me
in some upcountry picture taking
and he agreed. Three hours later,
this shot presented itself in all it's glory.
It's pretty wild when you are actually in the clouds taking pictures
of a
setting sun, very surreal. Anyhow, this paraglider was just too
picturesque not
to capture."
I must agree with Kalani - this really is a picturesque scene. Like most people,
when I think of Maui (or any of the Hawaiian islands for that matter), I think
of tropical winds, palm trees and magnificent sandy beaches. It never occurred
to me that you could visit a tropical island paradise for a hang gliding
adventure!
