Mac Puckett Performing During "Bluegrass Weekend"

Abingdon, Virginia's annual Virginia Highlands Festival always features plenty of great music, and this year they saved the very best for last! This is "Bluegrass Weekend" - two days showcasing one great Bluegrass band after another on the main stage. And one of today's wonderful performers just happened to be one of my personal favorites: Mac Puckett. Mac is one of the most interesting people you'll ever meet. He always has a smile on his face and a joke that he's just itching to tell, but when it comes to his music he's all business. Watching Mac sing and play his guitar is almost as much fun as listening to him. The facial expressions he makes when he's singing make him appear to be in deep pain, but he's really just trying to sing his heart out and put on an enjoyable show. And Mac ALWAYS puts on a great show! Although he grew up in southwestern Virginia, Mac lives in Atlanta these days so his appearances in this area are now a bit rare. But if you have never seen him perform before, you really owe it to yourself to catch one of Mac's highly entertaining shows during one of his visits!
