Ferns

Information about Ferns

FernFilix

Type: Perennial

Ferns are among the oldest known plants, dating back hundreds of millions of years! They are also native to most of the world's land masses.

The broad expanse of a fern's blade-like leaves gives a garden a lush appearance. A few ferns strategically placed throughout your flower garden will provide it with color and character.

Ferns aren't that difficult to grow and they do well in most types of soil, but they do best in moderate shade. The main thing to remember is that ferns require frequent watering. Dry soil poses a big problem for them!

There are numerous varieties of ferns available, so check with your local garden center to find out which ones grow best in your area.
