Colorful Earth & Moon

Photo courtesy of Nasa.  Today's picture is a spectacular color digital photograph of the earth dwarfing the moon as it orbits around it. North and South America are easily seen as are the island of Cuba and Hispaniola. The green areas on the land masses are vegetation. A couple of hurricanes are easily identifiable, one just west of Mexico and the other out in the ocean to the east of Canada. The perspective of the moon in relation to the earth makes it appear that the earth is hundreds of times larger than the moon, but this is merely an illusion.
