A Chester, South Carolina Sunset

Today's picture features Amy's dog Sage lying on a picnic table with a spectacular sunset as a backdrop. Gene and Sage were camping at Skydive Carolina in Chester, South Carolina when the setting sun turned the sky into a backlit mosaic. Gene grabbed his camera and got off a few shots before the sun had completely melted away.

As one would expect with a pitch-black German Shepard, Sage becomes virtually invisible when the sun goes down - but the camera flash gives him away. Gene really has a knack for taking great photos and this one is certainly no exception.

Sunsets are among my favorite landscape features because they almost always make great photographs - and when you add Sage into the mix it's pretty hard to end up with an image that is less than spectacular!
