Azaleas

Information about Azaleas

AzaleasAzaleas are very beautiful flowering shrubs that come in a variety of colors. They grow well in many regions, but are especially popular in the southern United States.

Any time of the year is a good time to plant azaleas. They do best in partially shaded, well-drained, slightly acidic soil that contains a high percentage of organic matter.

Azaleas respond well to fertilizer and watering (whenever the surrounding soil is dry).

While the blossoms of azaleas are very beautiful, they only last about two weeks. Depending on the local climate, azaleas can bloom at any time between early spring and September.
