Attracting Butterflies To Your Garden

Butterfly PhotoSwarms of beautiful, colorful butterflies will transform your lawn and property into a magical garden. And it's very easy to entice them to flutter around your house.

Butterflies are very attracted to flower blossoms that have a heavy perfumed smell. These types of blossoms contain lots of carbohydrates that are needed by butterflies to fuel their high-intensity mating rituals and flower-pollinating activities.

A Butterfly's Favorite Flowers:

  • Milkweed
  • Valerian
  • Buddleia
  • Red zinnias
  • Orange marigolds
  • Lavender

It is best to plant these flowers in a sunny spot that's also protected from high winds. And feel free to plant a lot of flowers as butterflies love abundant patches of nectar- producing blossoms.

Choose a variety of flowers so you that you will have at least a few nectar -  bearing blooms throughout the entire summer season. This will keep the butterflies from having to seek out new feeding grounds so they'll stay around your house instead of the neighbor's!
