Abby Showing Off Her "Witch Fingers"

My mom has a large hummingbird vine in her front yard, and its long, spindly orange blossoms are a big hit with her great-grandchildren. They pull them off of the vine and slip them over their fingers to create "witch fingers". Today's picture shows my niece Abby showing off her new witch fingers while sitting at mom's kitchen table.

And how exactly did the youngsters learn how to make witch fingers from the blossoms of a hummingbird vine? From their "nanny", of course! Mom has always been the creative type. She's a super-talented craftsperson who can find more uses for simple items than MacGyver! But she doesn't keep her secrets to herself, she loves passing them on to kids of all ages.

Young Abby has become quite close to her great-grandmother in recent months. Like her cousin Hannah, she's a bright, beautiful and very active young girl who loves staying busy, and mom just loves helping her find new ways to entertain herself!
